2.5.2 Generation of A Solution’s Configuration Files

1.
Once all input has been loaded into the various tabs (either manually, or via Import of a previously Exported project, or a combination of the two procedures), click the Generate Config button located just above the tabs.
A Generate Configuration Files window appears and prompts via a number of check boxes for the specific file types to be generated. In most cases of a new installation, the choice Select All will be the appropriate choice.
2.
A Progress Log window monitors the generation steps as they take place. Any detected errors are displayed with red text messages below the Progress Log window. The specific fault condition is described. The generation may stop automatically or may be stopped manually via the Stop button. Fix the error(s) and repeat the previous step until an error-less generation run successfully completes.
3.
Now all configuration files have been generated. The next step is to download them to the technician PC. Click the Download Files button. The tool gives the option to select which of the two last successful configurations will be downloaded. A File Download dialog window will prompt for either Open, Save, or Cancel. Select Save and then provide the specific folder location to accept the files. The files will be download as a .zip file and will have the project name as part of the name. Details for the produced files are available in Section 3, “Configuration Files”.
4.
The basic configuration generation has been completed. The OpenScape solution can be installed using the generated configuration files. A file named CDC_README_GeneratedFiles.pdf bundled with the generated files contains detailed information regarding the generated data and how to use the files, i.e. apply the data into the target devices.
