4.5 Endpoints Tab

The rows in this table are used to configure information specific to the remote sites in the target Standard Solution deployment. This includes the type of the remote device, its associated IP network addresses, netmasks and default gateway settings as well as the remote’s PSTN call routing information such as country code, area code and its local exchange code (office code).
 
•
Endpoint Name (Gateway or Proxy Name) (*) - A PSTN gateway or proxy name to be used in the headquarters or a branch office indicated under the Site Name column.
NOTE: The endpoint name can not be longer than 15 characters with the exception of a “Central SBC” in which case it cannot exceed 12 characters.
•
Site Name (*) - The site name as defined in the Site tab. The cells are a dropdown box that can be updated with the ’Update Site dropdown list’ button (not automatically).
•
Hostname (*) - Host Name of the endpoint as it is known in the Network topology (DNS). This is NOT the FQDN, so only one name is needed, without any period.
•
Endpoint Type (*) - The possible gateway or proxy types
NOTE: If the Type 'Others' is selected, the Destination route in the OSV will be created with Type Of Number (NOA) ’Unknown' and the number will be forwarded in +E164 format. Based on the Gateway configuration the user might need to manually modify the destination configuration on OSV.

Endpoint Signaling Type (*) - SIP or SIP-Q. Default value is SIP
•
Endpoint Usage (*) - This attribute describes how the endpoint is used:
–
Gateway: with connection to PSTN.
–
Proxy: as outbound SIP proxy
–
Proxy ATA: OSB in Proxy ATA mode
–
Gateway And Proxy: combined gateway and proxy use (OSB50i)
–
SBCProxy: SBC in Proxy mode
–
BranchSBC: SBC in Branch SBC mode
–
BranchSBC behind cSBC: SBC in Branch mode connected to the WAN interface of a Central SBC
–
CentralSBC: SBC in Central SBC mode in headquarters site
–
Dummy: only used for sites without local gateway to detect the office code parameters (e.g. country and area code). For dummy endpoints the endpoint type, signaling type and network data are not used.
If a site has no local gateway and a dummy endpoint is chosen then no Branch Office will be created for this specific site.
NOTE:  Virtual Branch Office under Main Office can only be created via CMP.
If a site has no local gateway and no dummy endpoint is chosen then all the subscribers of this site are private numbers.
•
SBC Installation Mode - This field applies only to endpoints configured with Central SBC or Circuit ATC Usage.
–
Normal: The SBC’s LAN and WAN interfaces are connected to two different IP networks or subnets.
–
Single Armed: The SBC’s LAN and WAN interfaces are connected to the same IP subnet.
Default value is Normal.
•
Redundant Endpoint Name (OSB/OSBBC only) - Name of the redundant OSB/OSBBC.
NOTE: This name can not be longer than 15 characters.
•
Virtual Endpoint Name (OSB /OSSBC only) - The hostname of the virtual OSB/OSSBC.
NOTE: This name can not be longer than 15 characters.
•
Endpoint Signaling Type (*) - Endpoint signaling type: SIP or SIP-Q. Default value is SIP
•
Enable PRI Redundancy (OSB 500i only) - Whether TDM/PRI redundancy for OSB 500i hardware units should be enabled or not.
–
Is only applicable to OSB 500i with the exception of “BranchSBC” Endpoint Usage mode.
–
Enabling requires enabled redundancy for the respective OSB500i hardware units in the current (“Endpoints”) tab.
Default is ’Disabled’.
•
County Code (*) (Mandatory with exception of ProxyATA endpoints) - The remote site’s country code, e.g. 1 for US, 49 for Germany. The CC + AC + LOC is needed for gateways, but also for proxies since this info is used for DNM in survivability mode.
NOTE: Supported countries can be listed by pressing the "Show list of supported countries" button. If a required country code is not listed you may send a support request to WebCDC. For instructions, see Appendix E, “Request Country Data Support”.

Area Code (*) - The CC + AC + LOC is needed for gateways, but also for proxies since this info is used for DNM in survivability mode.
IMPORTANT: In case of RA deployments, this field is not mandatory for ProxyATA endpoints!
IMPORTANT: In case of provisioning Multiple Subscriber Numbers (OSB50i D44), this field is not applicable and is therefore greyed out!
•
Subscriber Code / Local Exchange Code (*) - WebCDC will automatic download the Local Toll Tables (LTT) via the internet.
–
Make sure the Office Code exists, otherwise the download will fail and generation will stop.
–
Also make sure you have an internet connection, otherwise the automatic generation will also stop because the LTT tables cannot be downloaded.
–
The CC + AC + LOC is needed for gateways, but also for proxies since this info is used for DNM in survivability mode.
IMPORTANT: In case of RA deployments, this field is not mandatory for ProxyATA endpoints!
IMPORTANT: In case of provisioning Multiple Subscriber Numbers (OSB50i D44), this field is not applicable and is therefore greyed out!
•
Subscriber DID Extension Range (*) - When there are multiple DID ranges with the same CountryCode/AreaCode/LocalExchangeCode, use a comma separated list.
e.g. 100-199,400-499,600-649.
This field is required with the following exceptions:
–
In case of ProxyATA endpoints, this field is not mandatory.
–
In case of CentralSBC endpoints, this field is not applicable and is therefore greyed out.
–
In case of provisioning Multiple Subscriber Numbers (OSB50i D44), this field is not applicable and is therefore greyed out.
•
Default Home DN (optional field) - This DN should be from the range of DIDs supported by the endpoint. The Default home DN is used for setting calling party number in certain cases.
IMPORTANT: This field is not required for Proxy and ProxyATA endpoints!
IMPORTANT: In case of provisioning Multiple Subscriber Numbers (OSB50i D44), this DN should belong to the private range of the respective site!
•
MSN (Multiple Subscriber Numbers) - This is an optional field applicable only for BRI point to Multi-Point in OSB 50i.
–
It is a comma separated list of <b>up to ten</b> MSNs (Multiple Subscriber Numbers). For example 5619231000,5613335600,9542342000.
–
The MSN numbers are mapped to private only numbers defined in the Site tab's "Extension ranges" row for the respective site. For that reason, the private only extensions should be defined first (one by one sequentially) in the Site tab's "Extension ranges" row in order to be correlated to the respective MSN entry.
IMPORTANT: This field is only applicable in case the user selects "OSB50i D44" as "Endpoint Type". In all other cases, it is greyed out!
IMPORTANT: Fields "Area Code","Subscriber Code/Local Exchange Code" and "Subscriber DID Extension Range" must be empty if MSN is populated!
•
PSTN Provider Name - Specify the PSTN provider to be used for this Endpoint. This will affect the provisioning of the gateway accordingly.
•
Presubscribed Carrier Code - In some countries, e.g., Brazil, a presubscribed carrier code needs to be sent to PSTN provider.
•
Port and Line Channel Selection - With this column one can select the used ports (lines) and the channels of the gateway.
The following syntax is to be used (an arbitrary amount of blanks is allowed):
<port1>(<direction1>;<channel selection1>), <port2> (<direction2>;<channel selection2>),... where:
–
<portN> = the BRI or PRI interface to be used. This is an index that indicates the line to be used.
–
<directionN> = the direction of the traffic. Possible values are: both, outgoing only, incoming only. Outgoing means towards the PSTN and incoming means from the PSTN.
–
<channel selectionN> = The indices of the channels to be used. This is a semi colon separated list and also ranges are allowed (e.g. 1;5;10-12 means channels 1, 5 and from 10 to 12)
Important remarks:
–
if the total cell contents is left empty then ALL ports, BOTH directions and ALL channels are assumed to be taken
–
if the direction field is left empty then BOTH directions are assumed
–
if the channel selection is left empty then ALL channels are assumed
Example: 1 (out;3), 3(2-5;10), 6, 10 (4;8;9)
–
Line 1 is for outgoing traffic and channel 3 is used
–
Line3 is for both directions traffic and channels 2 till 5 and channel 10 are used
–
Line 6 is has all channels for both directions
–
Line 10 has channels 4, 8 and 9 for both directions
•
Signaling Endpoint IP (*) - The signaling IP address (SIP) to be used for the gateway or proxy.
NOTE: For OpenScape Branches and Mediatrix systems, the Signaling IP is also the Administration IP
•
Signaling Endpoint Netmask (*) - The netmask of the signaling network used for the gateway or proxy.
•
Signaling Endpoint Default GW (*) - The default gateway of the signaling network used for the gateway or proxy.
•
Virtual IP Address for LAN interface (OSB/OSSBC only) - The Virtual IP Address of the OSB/OSSBC redundancy pair.
•
Virtual IP Address for WAN interface (SBC only) - The Virtual IP Address (on the WAN side) of the SBC redundancy pair.
•
Administration LAN IP - The system management IP address of the RG 8700 gateway.
•
Administration LAN Netmask - The netmask of the administration network used for the RG8700 gateway.
•
Administration Default GW - The default gateway of the administration network used for the RG8700 gateway.
•
Voice LAN IP - The IP address to be used for the voice media streams (RTP) for the RG 8700.
•
Voice LAN Netmask - The netmask of the voice network used for the RG8700 gateway.
•
Voice LAN Default GW -The default gateway of the voice network used for the RG8700 gateway.
•
WAN IP 1 (Mandatory for SBC) - This is a mandatory field for all type of SBCs.
•
WAN Netmask 1 (Mandatory for SBC) - This is a mandatory field for all type of SBCs.
•
WAN IP 2 (Mandatory for SBC) - Set it only for Central SBCs when used with collocated or L2 separated OSVs
•
WAN Netmask 2 (Mandatory for SBC) - Set it only for Central SBCs when used with collocated or L2 separated OSVs
•
WAN Default GW (Mandatory for SBC) - This is a mandatory field for all type of SBCs.
•
External Firewall - The external firewall IP address, used to configure single armed endpoints with Central SBC or Circuit ATC usage.
•
SIP Provider -

SSP Address [IP/FQDN] - The IP or FQDN address of the SSP (SIP Service Provider) if you have at least one SSP to support SIP Trunking. Only relevant for endpoint Usage 'CentralSBC', 'SBCProxy', and 'BranchSBC'.

SSP SIP Port -

SSP SIP Transport -
•
Inventory - This is used to prepare the data ahead of the physical installation of the OSB/OSSBC and to facilitate the Simplified installation process. This data is populated in the OSB/OSSBC CSV file.
•
Software Version - The software version of the installed OSB.

Serial Number - The serial number of the installed hardware unit.
NOTE: This field is not used during WebCDC Config Files generation. It is only used for tracking purposes of the current project's endpoint hardware units.
