RG 8700 Configuration Files
The
Write RG 8700 config
button generates the following three files, which contain the complete RG 8700 configuration:
•
<Gateway Type>_<Hostname>_config1.txt
•
<Gateway Type>_<Hostname>_config2.txt
•
<Gateway Type>_<Hostname>_config3.txt
For the Standard Solution the <Hostname> portion of the filename is taken from the
Hostname
field of the
Endpoints tab
on which the RG 8700 is defined. t

How to Create
Click the
Generate Config
button. Ensure that the
Gateways
option is checked.
How to Import in the Gateway
To import
1.
FTP the generated files to the RG8700. For example, place the files in the /tmp directory.
2.
Open a telnet session and run the following command:
execute /ad0/tmp/<gwname>_config1.txt
3.
Reboot the RG 8700 device.
4.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 for the remaining three files.

What It Configures
•
RG 87xx basic configuration
•
Number Modification Rules (incoming and outgoing)
•
Differentiation between external (ISDN-side) and internal (SIP-side) numbers
•
Selection of multiple codecs.
•
Selection of transport protocol.
IMPORTANT:
<Gateway Name> should match the “target name” that is entered when initially configuring the RG 8700 via the craft port. In these initial steps the RG 8700 management IP address is also set. For more information refer to the
