1.1 What is the Web Customer Data Collection Tool?

WebCDC is a Web based tool that allows Unify, its channel partners and its customers to work together to plan, record and generate configuration files for OpenScape Voice (OSV) and OpenScape Enterprise Express (OSEE) deployments.This includes Unify and third-party components that are included in OpenScape solutions. WebCDC also creates a record of the customer installation for future retrieval if needed (i.e. for site upgrades, etc.).

WebCDC makes configuration of OpenScape Voice solutions significantly easier by producing device configuration files for Mediatrix gateways (Analog 41xx, BRI 44xx, PRI 36xx), RG8700 gateways, OpenScape Voice, OpenScape Branch, OpenScape SBC, OpenScape UC Application, Xpressions, OpenScape Contact Center, OpenScape Concierge and OpenScape DLS. Virtualized configurations of these components is also supported. Additionally, partial support is provided for migrations of the OpenScape 4000 to OpenScape solutions by importing the OpenScape 4000 configuration data into the WebCDC standard tabs.

NOTE: With the introduction of WebCDC, Standard and Thin editions of the excel-based CDC no longer exist. However excel collected data can be imported to WebCDC to satisfy the ’data collection only’ (i.e. no file generations) aspect of Thin edition.
